Sep. 8, 2009 (Business Wire) -- RadiSys® Corporation (NASDAQ:RSYS), a leading global provider of advanced embedded solutions, today announced that it has enhanced its Convedia® Media Servers with new 3G mobile video features. RadiSys Convedia Media Servers already offer a broad range of IP video processing features for video telephony applications including mobile video conferencing, video ringback tones, video mail and interactive voice and video response (IVVR). With the addition of new media processing capabilities, the RadiSys Convedia Media Server can now support a service provider’s 3G video processing needs with one common VoIP infrastructure.
“By adding new features for two-way, interactive 3G mobile video to its Convedia Media Servers, RadiSys has further enabled operators to deliver user-friendly 3G mobile video services,” said Alan Greenberg, Senior Analyst and Partner at Wainhouse Research. “The timing is right for mass market deployment, and features like video text overlay show that RadiSys is paying attention to important application-enabling details. The net result will be that operators find new opportunities to generate new revenue and increase their average revenue per user.”
RadiSys’ expanded product offerings position the company for the large growth expected in 3G video service deployments around the globe. Coupling mobile video access technology with the already robust feature set on the Convedia Media Server provides a cost-effective scalable architecture that lowers the overall cost of ownership, thus making 3G video telephony services more affordable for mass-market deployment.
