Lance Yanagihara Joins Union Bank's Private Bank

Based in San Francisco, Yanagihara specializes in assisting Japanese and Japanese-American customers.

Yanagihara joined Union Bank in 1984. After completing the bank's management training program, he worked as a commercial lender in several branch offices including the Guam Office. In 1999, Yanagihara transferred to the Japanese Corporate Department where he served as relationship manager and, later, portfolio manager. From 2007 to 2009, Yanagihara worked for Shinsei Bank Ltd. in Japan, where he was responsible for the risk management of several of the bank's principal investment portfolios.

Yanagihara holds a bachelor's degree from the University of California, Berkeley. A native of Tokyo, Japan, Yanagihara resides in Union City with his wife Tomoko and their two children.
