Saving money is easy with Dayton Power and Light's (DP&L) energy efficiency programs. Residential customers can save energy and money with DP&L's discounted compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs), appliance recycling and heating and cooling rebates.
DP&L Discounts on Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs
Changing a light bulb takes seconds, but the savings will last throughout the year. Customers can turn a savings of $1.30 into $1,252 if they replace all the light bulbs in their homes with CFLs. The average number of light bulb sockets in most homes is 40. With a savings of at least $1.30 on each bulb with the DP&L discount, that adds up to an immediate savings of $52.
But it's the savings over the life of the bulbs that really adds up--$30 for each CFL multiplied by 40 bulbs equals $1,200. Add that to your initial savings and it's $1,252.

Over 525,000 CFLs have been sold since DP&L's program started in February. Based on the $1.30 discount and $30 energy savings over the life of each CFL, customers will save over $16.4 million over the life of these light bulbs.
A variety of discounted Energy Star bulbs are available in 150 retail locations, including the newly added GE bulbs at Walmart. A complete list of participating retailers is available by calling 866-668-9581 or by visiting http://lighting.dpandl.com.
