National Beverage, a manufacturer of energy drinks, fortified powders, functionally enhanced juices and waters, has reported a net income of $9.79 million, or $0.21 per share, for the first quarter of ended August 1, 2009, compared to $7.75 million, or $0.17 per share, in the same quarter ended August 2, 2008.
For the first quarter ended August 2009, net sales were $162.83 million, compared to $152.93 million in the corresponding period of 2008.
Nick Caporella, chairman and CEO of National Beverage, said: "The 'value conscious' consumer seeking variety, and recognized quality continues to choose our traditional Shasta and Faygo flavors to refresh and entertain themselves. This consumer's brand loyalty has resulted in double-digit increases of our core soft-drink brands and impacted gains in revenues and net income, marking an excellent first quarter."
