For the eleventh year in a row, ITT Corporation (NYSE:ITT) has been
named to the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World) in
recognition of the company's economic, environmental and social
performance. Its inclusion on the 2009 list makes ITT one of the few
companies to be included on the list every year since its inception in
1999.
The DJSI World identifies those companies that exemplify leadership in
sustainability and comprises the top 10 percent of the businesses
assessed, which includes the world's 2,500 largest corporations. The
leaders are selected according to a systematic corporate sustainability
assessment across an array of categories, including climate change
strategies, energy consumption, human resources development, knowledge
management, stakeholder relations and corporate governance.
