The ranking was revealed last night at a gala awards ceremony at the InformationWeek 500 Conference.

Iron Mountain’s newly-launched Record Center Optimization Program uses labor and performance data to optimize the service quality of its record center operations. Access to the operational data comes via a new suite of self-service reports developed by Iron Mountain utilizing its business intelligence system. To provide supervisors with the right insights, the system extracts key information from several sources including the company’s records inventory and transaction system, its employee time and attendance system, as well as a database of facility-specific engineered metrics for completing activities within a records center like shelving a new box. The technology then synthesizes the data into a set of reports and forecasts, allowing managers to assign employees where they’re needed most and to make customer deliveries more quickly and accurately.
