Lattice Technology continues to show leadership in the manufacturing
design industry by shipping Lattice3D Dataway, an application that
incorporates the revolutionary Adobe 3D OEM platform with XVL(R).
Two products, XVL Studio, a high-quality editing and authoring tool
for 3D digital mockup and technical documentation, and Lattice3D
Reporter, which embeds ultra-lightweight XVL versions of 3D CAD
models into Microsoft Excel files, are now able to import and export
3D files into the industry standard Adobe 3D PDF format.
Sold exclusively through Tech Soft 3D (TS3D), an Adobe Systems
Incorporated Gold Solution Partner, the powerful Adobe 3D OEM platform
provides independent software vendors (ISVs) with a complete set of 3D
CAD data importers combined with a full license of Adobe(R)
Acrobat(R) 9 Pro Extended. ISVs can integrate the Adobe 3D OEM
platform to their software, providing their customers with the
ability to publish 3D data directly to the Portable Document Format
(PDF) with full control of the view, comment, measurement, security,
and collaboration features within the free Adobe(R) Reader(R).
Lattice Technology General Manager Bill Barnes commented, "The
strength of the Adobe OEM technology coupled with the deep expertise
of the Tech Soft 3D team allowed us to quickly add this functionality
to our product line and offer our clients the flexibility they
require when communicating with their production and marketing
chains. Manufacturers look to us to be able to transform 3D design
data into 3D manufacturing data on even the largest of models -- and
with the Adobe 3D OEM platform, we are able to provide unmatched
performance with confidence."
"It's important in today's manufacturing market that you not only
provide 3D visualization, but a feature-rich experience to the end
user," added Ron Fritz, CEO of TS3D. "Engineering and business
development teams need access to 3D files in a format that they can
be sure their downstream recipients can view, in a format that is
lightweight enough that they can be sent by e-mail. The combined
power of the Lattice products and the Adobe OEM platform provides
customers with a groundbreaking combination of ease of use and speed.
This ultimately translates to faster and more accurate product
development, as well as more advanced sales and marketing
capabilities."
In addition to the popular PDF format, the Product Representation
Compact (PRC) format, used in the Adobe 3D OEM platform to store, load
and display 3D data with precise geometry and outstanding
compression, is on its way to becoming the standard 3D file format
under the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) --
