Sep. 17, 2009 (Business Wire) -- ManTech International Corporation (Nasdaq:MANT) announced that it was awarded an Indefinite-Delivery, Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) contract from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to provide a full range of management support services to the nation's critical infrastructure and key resources (CIKR) program. The competitively awarded, multiple-award IDIQ program, which was awarded to ManTech in the second quarter, has a base-year and four option years and a total potential value of $135 million.
ManTech will support the DHS National Protection and Programs Directorate Office of Infrastructure Protection (NPPD OIP), whose mission is to build a safe, more secure, and more resilient America by enhancing protection of the nation’s CIKR. NPPD OIP works to prevent, deter, neutralize, or mitigate the effects of deliberate efforts by terrorists to destroy, incapacitate, or exploit our national’s critical infrastructures; and to strengthen national preparedness, timely response, and rapid recovery in the event of an attack, natural disaster, or other emergency.
ManTech will support contingency planning, incident response, training and exercises, and other areas. Task orders under the contract will be awarded in seven categories: policy, strategic analysis and planning; project management; communications support; meeting support and facilitation; readiness (training and exercises) support; continuity of operations program support; and infrastructure coordination and incident management support.
“DHS’s charter, to protect our nation’s critical infrastructure components such as electric power, food, drinking water, telecommunications, transportation systems, chemical facilities and other resources, is a complex mission. DHS must identify and analyze threats, coordinate with government and private sector organizations and employ risk mitigation efforts encompassing readiness and incidence response,” said Larry Prior, President and Chief Operating Officer, ManTech International Corporation. “ManTech has extensive experience in critical infrastructure protection supporting the State Department and government facilities at Los Alamos, Sandia, Lawrence Livermore, Oak Ridge, Rocky Flats, Savannah River, and other national laboratory and weapons facilities.”
