Sep. 23, 2009 (Canada NewsWire Group) --

CALGARY, Sept. 23 /CNW/ -- Comaplex Minerals Corp. (TSX-CMF) is pleased to provide its fourth update on the 2009 exploration program on the Meliadine West gold property near Rankin Inlet, Nunavut Territory, Canada. The property is owned 78% by Comaplex and 22% by Meliadine Resources Ltd. (a private company owned 100% by Resource Capital Fund III L.P. of Denver), with Comaplex having an option to increase to 80%.

2009 Drill Program
------------------

Diamond drilling on the Meliadine West property was completed on September 19 and the camp is expected to close for the season in early October. A total of 23,600 meters in 110 holes were drilled in 2009. With an original drill budget of 20,000 meters, the extra 3600 meters were used for infill testing of targets in the F Zone and Tiriganiaq gold deposits and for geotechnical work. By zone: 34 holes (2712m) in F Zone, 35 holes (16,732m) in Tiriganiaq, 16 holes (3013m) in recon, and 25 holes (1143m) in geotech.

Drill results for the 2009 program were released on June 15, 2009 (release 09-09), on July 13, 2009 (release 09-10), and on August 19, 2009 (release 09-12). The results from an additional 16 holes are highlighted in this release. These include 6 holes (3229 meters) completed in the Western Deeps (Tiriganiaq Deposit), 3 holes (254 meters) in the open pit portion of the Tiriganiaq deposit, and 7 recon holes (1466 meters) completed in the Musket Bay area west of the other deposits.

Detailed drill results from all of the recent drill holes are attached to this release. Highlights from holes in the Tiriganiaq deposit include:

12.2 gmt gold over 13.2 meters in hole M09-830
15.2 gmt gold over 8.8 meters in hole M09-834
and: 12.9 gmt gold over 14.4 meters
16.1 gmt gold over 4.5 meters in hole M09-836
and: 10.1 gmt gold over 4.9m
and: 8.1 gmt gold over 7.8m
12.9 gmt gold over 7.7 meters in hole M09-838
and: 27.6 gmt gold over 9.3 meters
and: 15.6 gmt gold over 2.5 meters
28.5 gmt gold over 2.6 meters in hole M09-805

Drilling in the Western Deeps portion of the Tiriganiaq gold deposit targeted and delineated gold mineralization in a number of different lodes. Infill of the 1255 lode continued; however, focused drilling of the 1153 lode in the deeper parts of the deposit outlined a continuous zone of gold enrichment over 800 meters in length (see attached Figure 1: http://files.newswire.ca/437/Comaplex_Figure_1.pdf). Gold tenor of the 1153 lode is comparable to the 1255 lode, with both lodes open down plunge to the west. Multiple intersections continue to be the norm in the Western Deeps with all six holes in this release returning at least three mineralized surfaces, often of very high grade and substantial widths.

As noted in Comaplex release 09-10 (Jul 13, 2009), a new zone of gold mineralization was intersected in four of the five holes in the Western Deeps holes in this release (holes 805, 830, 836, and 838).
