Application infrastructure software developer Progress Software has appointed Christopher Larsen as senior vice president of the company's Global Field Operations. He will report to Rick Reidy, president and chief executive.
Larsen will be responsible for all company-wide sales, pre-sales, alliance, technical support and consulting services. Most recently, he served as president and chief operating officer of Allegro Development. Prior to this role, he served as executive vice president of Global Field Operations at TIBCO Software. He has also held executive roles at DecisionOne, VerticalNet and SAP.
Reidy said: "Chris' appointment demonstrates my commitment to executing our ambitious growth plans. Chris brings an outstanding track record of developing, implementing and executing sales and service growth strategies. With extensive experience in the software market, he understands how to take an organization to the next level. He brings that experience to Progress' global field organization."
In June, Progress Software reported a 52% decline in net income to $6.9m for the second quarter 2009, on revenue down 9% at $117m.
