APUS Professor, Patricia Campbell, Ph.D., Selected to Serve on the Committee on Teaching and Learning of the American Political Science Association

Sep. 24, 2009 (Business Wire) -- Patricia J. Campbell, Ph.D., Program Director for International Relations, Middle Eastern Studies and Area Studies at American Public University System (APUS), was recently appointed to serve on the Committee on Teaching and Learning for the American Political Science Association (APSA) during its annual conference in Toronto, Canada. APUS is an online university system that includes American Public University and American Military University, and serves more than 50,000 working adults studying worldwide.

APSA is the leading professional organization for the study of political science and serves more than 15,000 members in over 80 countries. The Teaching and Learning Committee of APSA develops and promotes activities within the Association and the political science community regarding political science and the practices and policies of higher education, including undergraduate, graduate, professional and life-long education. Dr. Campbell’s term is from September 1, 2009 to August 31, 2012.

Prior to joining APUS, Dr. Campbell was a professor of political science at the University of West Georgia. She was also the University’s director of Global Studies.

Dr. Campbell holds a Ph.D. in International Relations from the Graduate School of International Studies, University of Denver and a BA in Political Science and History from Illinois State University.
