A 90 percent jump in shares since late July led Goldman Sachs to downgrade the women's apparel retailer, but she increased estimates.
Hovnanian Enterprises Inc., down 30 cents to $4.17.
Existing home sales unexpectedly dropped in August, and a Citigroup analyst said stock prices for homebuilders are too high.
Rite Aid Corp., down 24 cents to $1.71.
The drugstore operator cut its yearly outlook, saying the poor economy is hurting sales of nonpharmacy products such as food and makeup.
American Greetings Corp., up $4.39 to $19.37.
A gain of $7.6 million from an insurance program helped the greeting card company increase profit nearly tenfold despite a big sales drop.
Nomura Holdings Inc., down $1.17 to $6.49.
U.S.-traded shares of the Japanese brokerage tumbled after it announced plans to sell about 800 million shares, raising up to $5.6 billion.

Chelsea Therapeutics International Ltd., down $4.29 to $2.73.
The drug developer's candidate for treating low blood pressure, Droxidopa, failed a late-stage study, and shares hit a 12-month low.
Hercules Offshore Inc., down 94 cents to $5.35.
A sales forecast fell short of Wall Street estimates, and the oil services company said it would sell up to 17.5 million shares, which would dilute current shareholders' stakes.
