Wipro Wins $100m Deal From US Water Utility

(Source: Datamonitor)trackingIndian IT services vendor Wipro Technologies has won a three-year contract from New England water utility Aquarion Water Company (AWC) to provide SAP enterprise applications management services.

Under the deal, Wipro will provide its competency based FlexDelivery model in conjunction with Run SAP Methodology to provide business, technical and service delivery management support. The company will deliver its services from globally located FlexDelivery centers using standardized platform of tools and processes with teams aligned by competency.

Anand Padmanabhan, senior vice president and head of Energy and Utilities at Wipro Technologies, said: "We will leverage our experience in transforming utilities globally and best practices in application management to add value to AWC. Our services will rationalize IT support spends, helping AWC's IT estate respond to their future growth."

Last month Wipro won a $100m outsourcing contract from Australian beverage giant Foster's Group to manage and support Fosters' IT infrastructure, data centers and different business applications across Australia, the US, and the UK. It also won a five-year contract from US retailer Charming Shoppes to provide application management, remote infrastructure management and mainframe hosting.
