Sep. 28, 2009 (GlobeNewswire) --

NEW YORK, Sept. 28, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Fuel Systems Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq:FSYS) subsidiary IMPCO Technologies, Inc. secured initial orders of EPA-certified bi-fuel systems to key commercial fleet customers, including Chesapeake Energy Corporation, Apache Corporation, Anadarko Energy, DCP Midstream Partners, Laredo Energy and National Oilwell Varco, as well as state and municipal entities, including the Texas Department of Transportation, the Railroad Commission of Texas and the City of Norman Oklahoma.

Matthew Beale, Fuel Systems' President and CFO, said, "Our U.S. Automotive Division, launched in February, is gaining momentum. Over the last several months, our team has focused on increasing the portfolio of certifications for key fleet vehicle platforms and building a network of distributors and installers. In addition, consistent with our experience in international markets, our bi-fuel systems' superior flexibility provides attractive advantages to fleets. The combination has translated into the acquisition of end-user customers who are committed to making cleaner and cost-effective alternative fuel vehicles an important part of their fleets. While not yet a significant revenue contributor to Fuel Systems, the U.S. alternative fuel vehicle market is gaining industry and regulatory support including stimulus offered by the Clean Cities program and potential legislation. We believe we are very well positioned to benefit from the accelerating development of this exciting market."
