Ridgewood Energy (www.ridgewoodenergy.com),
a leading energy private equity firm, today announced the appointment of
Joe Morris as Vice President, Exploration. Morris will be responsible
for shapingand delivering Ridgewood's exploration strategy for the Gulf
of Mexico.
"Joe brings more than 30 years of experience and leadership in
exploration to this position," said Kenny Lang, President and Chief
Operating Officer of Ridgewood Energy. "He will play a key role in our
exploration strategy in the Gulf, which identifies opportunities that
can be tied back to existing infrastructure, ultimately facilitating
rapid development."
Ridgewood Energy has a 23-year history of partnering directly in major
Gulf of Mexico oil and gas projects with leading exploration and
production companies.
Morris comes to Ridgewood Energy after spending eight years with BP in
key roles and having led a strategy focused on the definition and
exploitation of infrastructure-led' exploration opportunities, both on
shore and in the Gulf of Mexico. Prior to BP, Morris worked for firms
including Arco Oil and Gas Company and Vastar Resources. He also
established a successful individual exploration consulting business.

Morris lives in Houston, and he will be based in Ridgewood Energy's
Houston office. He holds BS and MS degrees in geophysics from Texas A&M
