Rogoff's speech at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, will focus on the impact of high public and private debt levels, factors affecting the strength of the dollar and the risk of a structural shift in global reserves away from the dollar, and the risk of high inflation over the next half decade.

Among the other speakers during the three-day conference October 20-22 at the Hotel Intercontinental in Boston are investment expert Charles I. Clough Jr., chairman and CEO of Clough Capital Partners, and James W. Griffith, president and CEO of The Timken Company.

Media Please Note: For the first time, the conference will feature a staffed press workroom for the media with hard-wired Internet connections, ample workspace and a staff liaison to facilitate interviews and assist journalists with working on-site. Members of the news media interested in covering the event can do so free of charge, but must register in advance by contacting Jim Dorsey at jim.dorsey@ihsglobalinsight.com or 781-301-9069, or Kate Smith at katherine.smith@ihsglobalinsight.com or 781-301-9311.

The World Economic Outlook Conference, widely considered the leading forum on the direction of the global economy for more than 20 years, will offer critical assessments and analyses by IHS Global Insight experts, top academics, and industry leaders of how the economic environment will affect countries and industries. Issues to be examined include:

Which countries will lead and which will lag in the recovery?

Which industry sectors are best positioned for growth?

What of the increasing role of government in business? How should business react?

Will the push for carbon-emission controls stifle economic growth?

What are the prospects for a dollar crash, de-coupling and re-emergence of inflation?

Speakers and Panel Discussion Participants:

Kenneth Rogoff, Thomas D. Cabot Professor of Public Policy, Department of Economics, Harvard University. "Could a Dollar Collapse and Higher Inflation Bring the Global Economy to Its Knees Again?"

Charles I. Clough, Jr., Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Clough Capital Partners, LP, presents a financial industry perspective of the recovery.
