FOOT LOCKER ASSOCIATES VOLUNTEER TO SORT 4,000 PAIRS OF SHOES TUESDAY

WHAT: At least four days before Fred Jordan Mission's 21st Annual
Back-to-School Giveaway starts, some underprivileged children
and their families begin camping out on the streets of Skid Row
outside the Mission in anticipation of the Mission's Back-to-
School Giveaway held Thursday October 1, showing the tragedy of
the growing needs of impoverished children in our community.

Tuesday, September 29, 2009 from 9:30am - 1:00pm Foot Locker
associates are sorting 4,000 pairs of athletic shoes that they
will give away free Thursday, October 1 at the Giveaway.

On Wednesday, Sept. 30 at various times will be great visuals of
Mission staff and volunteers preparing for the Event. We will
also show you the 4,000 pairs of athletic shoes that will be
given away free and huge boxes filled with brand new clothes and
school supplies for the poor. Interviews with impoverished youth
and their families and representatives of the Mission will be
available throughout the day, evening and tomorrow. This is a
great opportunity for a live feed.

Mission staff and volunteers will be preparing to provide new
shoes, clothes and school supplies for thousands of inner-city
impoverished children. Thursday's Back-to-School Giveaway is
designed to equip thousands of needy and homeless children for
academic success by sending them back to school with dignity and
positive self-esteem. The Mission provides them with the tools
they need to help break the cycle of poverty that has ensnared
their families for generations.

If your viewers, listeners or readers need new shoes, clothes,
haircuts or school supplies for their children, they are welcome
to come to the Giveaway. Because of the economy, the Fred Jordan
Mission is expecting even more children and their families at
this year's Giveaway. They are recommending that everyone line
up early.
