CALGARY, Oct. 1 /CNW/ -- The Board of Directors of Parkbridge Lifestyle Communities Inc. ("Parkbridge") (TSX:PRK) is pleased to announce that Mr. Ken Cullen of Calgary has been appointed a Director and Member of the Audit Committee of Parkbridge, effective October 1, 2009, subject to regulatory approval.

Mr. Cullen was for 30 years a partner with Deloitte & Touche LLP ("D&T"), providing assurance and advisory services to many publicly listed and privately-owned companies in the Calgary and Western Canadian market. Mr. Cullen's public practice activities included services with respect to financings, merger and acquisition transactions, internal controls compliance, and corporate governance.

Since retirement from D&T in 2006, Mr. Cullen has been active as a senior financial advisor to a private petroleum exploration company, in addition to serving as a trustee to a private family trust. Mr. Cullen is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta.
