AnalogicTech Comments on Recent Developments in Patent Litigation
Friday, October 02, 2009 9:01 AM

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Oct. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Advanced Analogic Technologies, Inc. (AnalogicTech(TM)) (Nasdaq: AATI), a developer of power management integrated circuits, today announced that the ITC ruled in favor of a motion proposed jointly by AnalogicTech and Linear Technology Corporation (Linear) to terminate a portion of the ongoing patent proceedings between the two companies. As part of this ruling, Linear agreed to remove certain of AnalogicTech's products from consideration by the ITC. In turn, AnalogicTech agreed that it will not seek to import these products in the future. The parties hope that the removal of these products (which are based on an older architecture and represent a non-material portion of AnalogicTech's revenue) will streamline the remaining issues between the two companies.

Today's announcement of the consent decree maintains the same scope of the dispute between the two parties. No new actions have been filed by either party.

"We are pleased to take another step forward in putting this litigation behind us," stated Richard K. Williams, President, CTO and CEO of AnalogicTech. "While reflecting the complexity of issues involved in cases of this nature, the multiple steps, filings and rulings are normal course of procedure. The effect to our business remains consistent - an insignificant and declining portion of the Company's total revenue are affected by the latest ruling and AnalogicTech's newer generations of switching regulators remain unaffected by this decision. We look forward to continuing to focus our efforts on these newer designs and bringing the remaining claims to a conclusion."
