BigMachines,
Inc., the leading provider of on-demand configuration and proposal
software, announced today that Promega
Corporation, a leader in providing innovative solutions and
technical support to the life sciences industry, has selected
BigMachines to provide on-demand software to streamline quote and order
processes for Promega's sales reps in the United States, Germany, and
the UK. BigMachines will integrate with Promega's Sage SalesLogix CRM
and ERP systems to enable accurate and rapid data flow throughout the
inquiry-to-quote-to-order process.
Promega offers thousands of products that enable scientists worldwide to
advance their knowledge in life science research, particularly in
genomics, proteomics, and cellular analysis. Products consist of kits
and reagents as well as Integrated Solutions for life sciences research
and drug discovery, resulting in complex pricing criteria. BigMachines
will replace Promega's home-grown software quoting tools that became
difficult to maintain, offered limited functionality, and lacked
reporting capabilities.
Promega is a global company based in Germany, and BigMachines'
multi-language and multi-currency capabilities are important
requirements for Promega. Initial implementation of the BigMachines
software will include currency calculations in US dollars, Euros and
Canadian dollars. BigMachines will also enable Promega to deliver
consistent, branded, accurate proposals to customers in multiple
languages. BigMachines will streamline Promega's workflow, automating
discount approvals and pricing calculations, and providing visibility
and reporting of customers, products purchased, and order volumes of
Promega devices and reagants. Contract renewals will also be tracked and
streamlined using BigMachines.
"We evaluated several options, but selected BigMachines because it
offers the most flexibility and capabilities," said Alex Bigge, Director
of Sales, North America for Promega. "BigMachines will integrate with
our current CRM and ERP systems, yet is flexible enough to support
future infrastructure changes. It will streamline the sales quoting
process for our reps, enabling them to manage and track complex orders
with more consistency and accuracy. Based on their experience providing
solutions for other companies in the medical device and life sciences
industries, we feel confident that they are the right choice for us."
"We are extremely pleased that Promega, a worldwide leader in the life
sciences field, has chosen BigMachines," said Godard Abel, CEO and
co-founder of BigMachines. "We look forward to working closely with them
to deploy a solution that enables their sales teams and dealers to sell
more and sell faster."
