WORCESTER, Mass., Oct. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Ian Bowles, Massachusetts Secretary of Energy and Environmental Affairs and Keith Gossage, head of Smart Grid Development USA for National Grid will be among the keynote speakers at this year's Massachusetts Energy Summit.
The Energy Summit will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2009 from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the DCU Center, 50 Foster Street, Worcester, MA. The Summit is for business owners, executives, municipal leaders and others interested in learning about the wide variety of energy supply choices, conservation methods and about the evolving array of alternatives to fossil fuels.
In addition to the keynote speakers there will be three panels: Funding Alternative Energy Projects, Economic Impact of Large Scale Renewable Energy Developments, and Retrofitting & Renovating for Energy Efficiency/LEED Certification. Representatives from Ansar Energy, Alteris Renewables, American Superconductor, Evergreen Solar, Stop & Shop, and Consigli Construction will be among the panelists sharing their experiences and insight.
The Central Mass. Green Awards, honoring businesses committed to green and sustainable practices, will also be presented at the Summit. The awards will honor businesses and organizations in five categories: Renewable Energy Usage, Energy Efficiency, Green Building, Land Use and Public Sector.
