Soliant
Energy, the leader in concentrated solar energy systems for
commercial rooftops, today announced that Dr. Terry Bailey, an
experienced technology and solar industry executive, will join the
company as chairman and chief executive officer. Effective immediately,
Bailey will replace interim CEO Marco DeMiroz, and will join the
existing Soliant Energy management team and board of directors. Bailey
leaves Evergreen
Solar (NASDAQ: ESLR), where he has served as senior vice president,
marketing and sales since August 2004, helping to increase total solar
generation capacity by 15X during his tenure.
"Helping to build Evergreen into an expanding, multinational solar
manufacturing company has been a rewarding challenge. Now I look forward
to taking Soliant Energy, a company with breakthrough, innovative
technology and a solar-savvy team, to the next level," said Bailey.
"The solar industry is still early in its life-cycle. Soliant Energy is
well-positioned for the future with its technology, products and
people," continued Bailey.
"Dr. Bailey brings a wealth of experience, thought leadership and an
understanding of how to operate and build a successful solar company,"
said Marco DeMiroz. "His years of hands-on operational experience and
deep insights of the industry will be invaluable to Soliant Energy and
its growth."
"As Soliant Energy moves to the next phase of its development, Terry
Bailey is the ideal executive to lead the way. Terry has a thorough
understanding of the solar customers' needs, wants, issues and pain
points. He knows how to get a product to market and deliver it to the
target customer. And, most importantly, he knows how to lead and
motivate teams," said Charles J. "Chuck" McDermott, general partner, RockPort
Capital Partners.
