This consumer device features a touch screen with a slide-out keyboard using the Morphpad^TM display as a numeric keypad in the portrait orientation that automatically morphs into a full QWERTY keypad in landscape mode.

With an integrated lighting system, the Morphpad^TM display consumes low power, is visible in all lighting conditions and from wide viewing angles. The Morphpad^TM display is a turnkey module, which provides full tactile feedback complementing LCD touchscreens. Morphpad^TM displays can use various colors, set on a black background, providing high contrast and visual impact using SmartInk^TM technology. When power is off, the morphing keypad display provides a clean, black surface, appealing to both consumers and product designers.
