Limbaugh joins bid to buy St. Louis Rams
Tuesday, October 06, 2009 1:45 PM

Limbaugh issued a statement Monday confirming that he has joined Checketts' effort to buy the NFL franchise from Chip Rosenbloom and Lucia Rodriguez, the son and daughter of the Rams' late owner, Georgia Frontiere, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.

"Dave and I are part of a bid to buy the Rams, and we are continuing the process," said Limbaugh's statement, given to KMOX radio. "But I can say no more because of a confidentiality clause in our agreement with Goldman Sachs. (NYSE:GS) We cannot and will not talk about our partners. But if we prevail we will be the operators of the team."

Unnamed NFL sources told the newspaper that multiple bidders have expressed interest in a possible sale of the Rams and that the process has moved from soliciting bids to weighing the bidders' qualifications.

"I certainly think individual bidders have the right to discuss their interest in the club," Kevin Demoff, the Rams' executive vice president of football operations, told the Post-Dispatch. "There's really nothing for us to say. It's really not fair to anybody involved in the process."
