Delta Cargo to Share Successes at the 5thAnnual Revenue Management & Price Optimization Conference at Georgia Tech

Oct. 6, 2009 (Business Wire) -- JDA® Software Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: JDAS), the leading provider of Price Sensitive Revenue Management (PSRM) solutions, today announced that Atlanta, Ga.-based Delta Cargo is live with JDA Cargo Revenue Optimizer. JDA’s solution will help the carrier, with one of the world’s most extensive cargo networks, optimize allocation of freight capacity and set segment hurdle rates for future booking requests, maximize revenue and achieve long-term profitability.

Offering daily flights to over 728 destinations in 149 countries, Delta Cargo has been on a fast track to restructure its cargo division around accurate and reliable movements of both freight and information since the company’s merger with Northwest Cargo in late 2008. Delta Cargo selected JDA’s Cargo Revenue Optimizer solution to work with its hosted Unisys Logistics Management System in order to leverage demand forecasts and fleet constraints to optimally assign flights, routes and customers for total cargo capacity.

“With the industry-wide downturn, implementing advanced pricing, process control and revenue management technology is more important than ever before,” said Neel Shah, vice president, Delta Cargo. “With JDA and Unisys, we have been able to gain much-needed visibility into demand across the network, allowing us to make smarter decisions and thus improve our bottom line.”

Delta Cargo will share its success and industry best practices at the 5th Annual Revenue Management & Price Optimization Conference at Georgia Tech on October 6 and 7, 2009. During the conference, Bill Kotrba, director, revenue management and network planning, Delta Cargo, will discuss how pricing and revenue management concepts can help companies sell into the B2B marketplace. Kotrba’s presentation, entitled “Inside the Box: A Pricing and Revenue Management Journey from B2C to B2B,” will be held on Tuesday, October 6 from 1:30 to 2:15 p.m. EDT.

“Until recently, pricing and revenue management solutions have been targeted to B2C companies,” said Kotrba. “Utilizing sound revenue management principles can help companies in many industries realize significant opportunities to increase revenue and profits.”

With more than 20 years of delivering ground-breaking revenue optimization technology to leading companies around the globe, JDA’s Services Industries Group, including the acquired Talus solutions, is taking revenue management to a new level with its next-generation PSRM solutions. While traditional revenue management technology produces forecasts based on the assumption that prices stay more or less constant, PSRM is designed to address today’s business challenge of operating in a fluid, dynamic pricing environment.
