ControlSwitch Enables Kenyan Telecommunications Company toCost-Efficiently Manage and Optimize Its Network
Oct. 6, 2009 (Business Wire) -- Veraz Networks, Inc., (NASDAQ:VRAZ), the leading provider of Multimedia Generation Network application, control, and bandwidth optimization products, today announced that Jamii Telecommunication Limited (JTL), a leading provider of communication solutions in Kenya and East Africa, has chosen Veraz’s ControlSwitchTM platform to enable optimized routing and improved network management without having to rely on other providers in Africa.
Working with Adwest, an integrated systems and solutions provider in East Africa and based in Nairobi, Veraz is providing JTL with an advanced voice services infrastructure with centralized management and support for both TDM and IP applications. The Veraz ControlSwitch solution enables Class 4 switching capabilities, plus control over signaling and transport between central offices of any mix of JTL’s TDM and IP-based traffic. This system enables global carriers to deliver top of the range services to and from East Africa through JTL. Many East African operators have also deployed Veraz’s I-Gate 4000 family of media gateways for international interconnection, enabling easy interconnection for JTL.
“We have an established relationship with Veraz, having already successfully deployed its I-Gate 4000 family of media gateways, and we are excited to expand our relationship with the company by installing its ControlSwitch platform,” said Mr. C. K. Joshua, CEO/Chairman of Jamii Telecommunications Limited. “Our ControlSwitch solution will allow us to cost-efficiently manage and control our network traffic in line with our business strategy for regional carrier traffic aggregation and supply globally. By working with Veraz, and better controlling our network, it will help us provide our customers with the highest quality of service.”
“The ability to independently manage its own traffic and deliver Class 4 services is important to a regional operator like JTL,” said Daniel Skinazy, Veraz Vice President Sales, EMEA. “Our industry leading bandwidth optimization solutions are already well-known among most operators in East Africa. We are now demonstrating to operators how they can leverage their bandwidth optimization solutions and further reduce OPEX by introducing switching capability for cost-effective routing and management of their traffic.”
