Oct. 9, 2009 (Business Wire) -- Level 3 Communications, Inc., a leading international provider of fiber-based communications services, has selected Mark Martinet as chief information officer. Martinet will be based at the company's headquarters in Broomfield, Colo., and will report to Jeff Storey, president and chief operating officer. Martinet brings more than 15 years of experience in the telecommunications industry to Level 3.

Before joining BT in 2004, Martinet spent four years with Qwest in a variety of technology, business and product roles. He began his telecom career in 1994.
