TechSolve and OAI Partner to Serve the Aerospace Industry to Build Business in Ohio

CINCINNATI, OH -- (Marketwire) -- 10/12/09 -- Effective October 16, 2009 TechSolve and Ohio Aerospace Institute (OAI) will collaborate to serve the needs of the Ohio aerospace community. This strategic alliance will bring together experts in aerospace to deliver new services in research and technology, design and manufacturing and to drive regional manufacturers toward more globally competitive solutions.

As the manufacturing industry faces a tightening economy, manufacturers across the state are looking to build upon opportunities in existing or current markets. Many have chosen or will choose aerospace. "Aerospace is a key strength and will provide continual opportunities for Ohio," notes Gary Conley, president of TechSolve. "Working with OAI, we can build upon Ohio's deep heritage in aerospace."

Ohio has an extensive integrated aerospace supply chain, with major suppliers such as GE Aviation, Goodrich Corporation, Parker Hannifin, Meggitt Aircraft Braking Systems, The Boeing Company, Delphi Automotive Systems, GrafTech International Ltd., Honeywell International Inc., Orbital Research, Inc., The Timken Company and more than 600 others.

"With more than 600 companies with predominant aerospace ties, and over 186,000 jobs in aerospace, Ohio is clearly a national leader in aerospace, propulsion and power technology," stated Michael Heil, president and CEO of OAI. "Only Ohio can boast of two federal laboratories, 10 leading universities with dedicated doctoral level research and education programs in aerospace-related disciplines and a large number of aerospace manufacturing companies."

The TechSolve-OAI alliance brings together experts who can address the needs of aerospace across the continuum. "TechSolve's proven abilities in design and manufacturing are a perfect fit with OAI's world-class research and technology expertise. The possible synergies were instantly evident," notes Donald Majcher, vice president of Technology and Innovation Partnerships at OAI.

"It's the dream team," says Conley. "We know we have the right mix to be successful in this endeavor."

The alliance will create access to more than 100 aerospace experts to serve the needs of Ohio companies. TechSolve and OAI will utilize their respective regional offices in Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Dayton to better serve needs across the state.
