high-density iSPAN®
3640 AdvancedMC High-Performance T1/E1/J1 Controller for use in
AdvancedTCA® (ATCA) and MicroTCA (µTCA) platforms. Via its 8
T1/E1/J1 interfaces, the iSPAN 3640 supports SS7 MTP2, ATM AAL5, SSCOP
and SSCF protocols, up to 248 SS7 Low Speed Links, 8 High Speed Links,
or 248 media channels, and thus dramatically optimizes the system slot
usage. Using its high-performance PCI Express (PCIe) interface or its
Gigabit Ethernet (GE) connectivity to a host processor, the iSPAN 3640
enables rapid exchange of payload information, making it ideal for a
broad spectrum of signaling applications such as signaling gateways,
wireless network control elements, and media servers/gateways. With its
high-impedance line interfaces and monitoring software, the iSPAN 3640
is also the perfect solution for SS7 monitoring services applications.
This is the latest addition to the Interphase portfolio of best-in-class
intelligent communication controllers, which includes COTS designs
in most standard form-factors to meet your immediate design needs. The
iSPAN 3640 is designed to provide intelligent network interfaces for
application platforms that need to connect to TDM/ATM networks. It
features the powerful Freescale MPC8568 PowerQUICC III QUICC Engines
processor. Hardware is available in mid-size and full-size AMC.0 R2.0,
in front- and rear-access configurations. The iSPAN 3640 comes with a
