TORONTO, Oct. 13 /CNW Telbec/ - Bell TV today announced the
launch of TMN Online, a new broadband entertainment service that
enables Bell TV subscribers with The Movie Network to watch movies
and series from any computer with access to high-speed Internet
service anywhere in Canada.
Available through the Bell TV Online portal at bell.ca/tvonline,
TMN Online provides subscribers with Astral's TMN programming for
premier access to Hollywood and independent hit films, TV series and
original Canadian programming for free as part of their existing TMN
subscription. Viewers will be able to access approximately 130 hours
of content weekly with new content made available each week. For
added convenience, subscribers can fast-forward, rewind, play and
pause movies and series and review title descriptions.
"The Bell TV Online portal is a rich value-added service for Bell
TV subscribers. By working with Astral Media to deliver TMN Online,
customers can get movies and shows on demand with the convenience of
watching on their computer or laptop wherever they can access the
Internet," said Kevin Crull, President of Bell Residential Services.
"As the first TV provider to offer this service in Canada, we are
once again proving Bell TV is the most advanced TV service available
with unbeatable value and entertainment choice for subscribers."
This service is the first in North America where authentication
and access are linked to the subscriber, rather than to the home
Internet connection. This enables customers to stream TMN Online
content to their desktop or laptop computer anywhere in Canada,
wherever a high-speed connection is available.
TMN Online is part of Bell TV Online, an online portal delivering
a compelling cross-platform entertainment experience. Bell TV
customers can enjoy the added value of ordering Pay Per View
content, access to NHL Game Centre Live or viewing movies and TV
series online. This unique portal delivers an unparalleled
subscriber experience by extending the entertainment experience from
the traditional TV screen to the Internet, a key component of Bell's
TV Anywhere three-screen strategy that works to deliver
entertainment content on TV, computer and mobile-phone screens.
