Deutsche Telekom subsidiary T-Mobile UK has appointed Max Taylor as head of Business Marketing, effective October 31.
Max will work closely with the newly-appointed head of Business Sales, Neil Pickersgill, to lead T-Mobile's efforts to grow sales in the small and medium enterprise (SME) market as well as in the corporate and public sectors.
Max joins the company from Vodafone where he was consulting for the global business marketing team on segment strategy. Prior to that, he worked for Dolby in the US as segment director for mobile. He has also spent five years at Orange in senior roles, including head of 3G and convergence marketing and head of SME proposition development. He has also worked for Verizon business in strategic marketing, and consulted at DSGI on the launch of The TechGuys, an IT customer service.
Srini Gopalan, chief marketing officer at T-Mobile UK, said: "Max brings strong management, segment proposition development and commercial operations experience to T-Mobile. Max joins us at a point in time when we are gearing up our efforts to offer greater value to the business community."
Last month, France Telecom's Orange and T-Mobile announced plans to merge their UK operations by the end of October into a 50-50 joint venture to create the country's largest mobile phone operator, with 28.4 million customers or 37% of the market.
