Wednesday, October 14, 2009 2:37 PM

The 6,110-square-foot store front, former home of a hammock store, will open on the Pearl Street Mall a couple of blocks from a long-time Crocs outlet, Pedestrian Shops, the Boulder, Colo., Daily Camera reported Wednesday.

"I can't tell you that I think it's good news, but it's not something we're going to be hysterical about. We wish them the best," said Richard Polk, owner of the Pedestrian Shop.

Crocs' Chief Executive Officer John Deurden said, "Boulder is the hometown of Crocs and a part of our strategy is to strengthen our brand roots."

The store will be the largest of Crocs' 300 retail outlets worldwide, the newspaper said.
