SugarCRM,
the world's leading provider of commercial open source customer
relationship management (CRM), today announced that 3Dconnexion,
a SugarCRM customer who manufactures 3-D control devices, won this
year's CRM Best Practice Award at CRM Expo in Nuremberg, Germany.
3Dconnexion, a subsidiary of computing device manufacturer Logitech, won
first prize in the CRM Launch category for its use of SugarCRM as a
global customer management platform. 3Dconnexion is the third SugarCRM
customer to win the CRM Best Practice Award. This is also the third
award for Insignio, a German-based partner of SugarCRM, who managed the
implementation for 3Dconnexion.
"This award is confirmation of the value SugarCRM delivers to its
customers through best-in-class CRM capabilities and an incredible
network of channel providers," said Liz Smith, vice president of
SugarCRM Europe. "SugarCRM congratulates 3Dconnexion for its innovative
use of SugarCRM, and Insignio for winning its third CRM Best Practices
award."
3Dconnexion control devices use technology originally developed for
robotics and space exploration to serve the needs of a wide variety of
users, including gamers, students, animation professionals and product
designers. Currently, its 3-D mice support more than 150 different CAD,
DCC, AEC and GIS applications. 3Dconnexion is headquartered in Fremont,
California. The company's European headquarters are in Seefeld near
Munich, and it has locations in 10 countries worldwide.
3Dconnexion's existing CRM system was spread across multiple databases
making it difficult for employees to consolidate, share and measure
information. 3Dconnexion enlisted SugarCRM and Insignio to implement a
single CRM platform that would consolidate core processes for online
marketing, sales, services and reporting.
With aligned processes between multiple customer touch points and
internal sales, marketing and support operations, 3Dconnexion's can
provide more responsive and engaging customer interactions. In addition,
key integrations tie the CRM system into Google Maps, 3Dconnexion's
e-commerce platform and partner portal. The new CRM system currently
serves employees in seven languages in Europe and the United States.
