CALGARY, Oct. 15 /CNW/ -- Comaplex Minerals Corp. (TSX-CMF) is pleased to provide the last of the results from the 2009 exploration program on the Meliadine West gold property near Rankin Inlet, Nunavut Territory, Canada. The property is owned 78% by Comaplex and 22% by Meliadine Resources Ltd. (a private company owned 100% by Resource Capital Fund III L.P. of Denver), with Comaplex having an option to increase to 80%.

2009 Drill Program
------------------

Diamond drilling on the Meliadine West property was completed in mid September with camp closure on October 5th. A total of 23,600 meters in 109 holes were drilled in 2009. This consisted of 33 holes (2712m) in F Zone, 35 holes (16,732m) in Tiriganiaq, 16 holes (3013m) in recon, and 25 geotechnical holes (1143m).

Drilling results from the 2009 program have been released in four previous releases (June 15 (release 09-09), July 13 (release 09-10), August 19 (release 09-12), and September 23 (release 09-14). The results from an additional 32 holes are highlighted in this release. These include 8 holes (3877 meters) completed in the Western Deeps (Tiriganiaq Deposit), 17 shallow holes (1368 meters) completed in the F Zone deposit four kilometers southeast of Tiriganiaq, and 7 geotechnical holes into the pit, mill, and proposed waste and ore dump locations.

Diamond drilling by Comaplex in the Western Deeps portion of the Tiriganiaq gold deposit was extremely successful in 2009. Additional gold mineralization was outlined in the 1255 lode (http://files.newswire.ca/437/figure1.pdf), but delineation of multiple mineralized surfaces in the 1150 series of lodes (especially the 1153 lode) was also achieved. Gold mineralization in the 1153 lode has now been extended over more than 800 meters of plunge/strike length with a gold tenor comparable to the 1255 lode. Additional mineralized surfaces in the 1154 and 1152 lodes are also expected to add to the resource base. All of the lodes are open down plunge to the west (http://files.newswire.ca/437/figure2.pdf).
