LSI Corporation and Accton Technology have announced the availability of a new hardware and software platform that delivers Internet Protocol Television and next-generation, media applications over broadband access networks.
Based on LSI Advanced PayloadPlus multicore communications processors and broadband access software, Accton's production-ready remote DSLAM solution enables OEMs to build products that service providers need to deploy triple-play services including voice, data and Internet Protocol Television (IPTV), along with online gaming and business applications.
LSI and Accton have previously collaborated on the development of highly integrated networking solutions. The current collaborative effort provides VDSL2 (Very High Speed Digital Subscriber Line 2) and PON (passive optical network) connectivity in remote DSLAM applications.
Samuel Chang, executive vice president of Accton Technology, said: "LSI is a recognized leader in the development of high-performance, multicore communications processors for networking infrastructure applications.
"The combination of Accton systems integration expertise and LSI multicore technology has enabled a new generation of cost-effective, highly scalable, feature-rich platforms that support voice, data and IPTV that we're now shipping in production volumes."
