BEIJING, Oct. 16, 2009 (Xinhua News Agency) -- Qatar's first LNG cargo will arrive China on October 17, reported C1 Energy, an energy consultancy firm.
The firm said the LNG cargo would be transported by a vessel named A1 Ghariya with storage capacity of 217,000 cubic meters to the CNOOC-run Dapeng LNG terminal in Guangdong for a test run of the facilities.
The volume of the LNG cargo has not been made public, but following an agreement between CNOOC and Qatargas, the latter should export 2 million tons of LNG to China annually for 25 years.
CNOOC (CEO.NYSE; 0883.HK) has already found downstream buyers for the Qatar LNG despite the relatively higher price.
