, Oct. 16, 2009 (Resource News International) -- The Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX)closed
at the same level on Friday. Although there were gains with many
of the commodities, they were offset by losses in the financials
sector, according to market watchers.
The TSX composite index increased by only 0.25 points to
close at 11,504.76 on Friday. Trading volume totaled 453.6
million shares, down from 483.5 million on Thursday. Declines
beat advances 786 to 737.
Six of the TSX's ten sectoral indexes ended higher on
Friday.
