Rimini Street, Inc., the leading third-party maintenance and support
provider for enterprise software, including Oracle Corporation's
(NASDAQ: ORCL) Siebel, PeopleSoft, and JD Edwards software and SAP AG
(NYSE: SAP) software, today announced delivery of its Tax Update 2009-E
containing critical tax and regulatory updates. Like all previously
delivered tax and regulatory updates, Rimini Street delivered its 2009-E
updates ahead of the software vendor's own planned release date for its
equivalent tax and regulatory updates.
The 2009-E update contains hundreds of updates, including local tax and
garnishment modifications, unemployed wage base changes and assorted
regulatory updates. In California alone, there were 20 critical changes,
including new withholding tables from the California Employment
Development Department posted on October 1, 2009, to be effective
November 1, 2009. Rimini Street's proactive tax and regulatory team
quickly identified, scoped, coded, tested, and packaged these changes
for inclusion in the tax and regulatory update being delivered today.
This 2009-E update also included guidance on preparing for 2009 year end
processing for U.S. and Canada.
"We continue to be impressed with the quality and completeness of our
Rimini Street tax and regulatory updates," said Glen Ruyter, PeopleSoft
applications and support manager, HickoryTech Information Solutions.
"Rimini Street delivers our mission-critical updates ahead of the
vendor's planned release date and packages them so they can be easily
applied to our software environment. This proven process for managing
tax and regulatory updates is a key advantage of Rimini Street's
third-party support program."
The 2009-E update follows a tax and regulatory update that was completed
and delivered to clients with operations in Australia during the first
week of October. The Australian update included federal tax rates, state
payroll tax rates and payment summary changes to ensure correct tax
calculation and end-of-year reporting.
Rimini Street is a member of the American Payroll Association and
Canadian Payroll Association, and its tax and regulatory team works with
local, state, provincial, and federal government representatives and all
major tax and regulatory services to ensure the latest tax and
regulatory updates are immediately identified, scoped, coded,
extensively tested, packaged, and re-verified for accuracy with
government agencies. This results in the highest quality deliverables
and the fastest "legislature-to-live"SM update delivery cycle
in the industry.
"Rimini Street again demonstrates its commitment to delivering the
timely, high quality tax and regulatory updates clients need to maintain
and run their mission-critical systems for the next decade and beyond,"
said Brian Slepko, senior vice president, global operations, Rimini
Street. "Our clients can rely on our tax, regulatory, and other legal
updates covering more than 100 countries across all relevant areas of
compliance such as human resource regulation and payroll taxes,
transaction taxes, and financial regulation changes such as IFRS
retrofits."
