Infobright, the open source data warehousing company, announced
today the appointment of Mark Burton as Interim CEO, replacing Miriam
Tuerk effective immediately.
The Infobright Board would like to acknowledge Miriam Tuerk's
significant contributions to the company from its inception through
its successful transition to the first commercial open source data
warehousing company.
Burton, currently an independent board member at Infobright, Zend
Technologies and MuleSoft (formerly MuleSource), formerly held senior
executive positions at some of the industry's most notable companies,
including MySQL and Informatica. His strong record developing global
teams and driving revenue growth contributed to the $1 billion
acquisition of MySQL by Sun Microsystems and Informatica's successful
IPO. Burton will continue his Board positions in addition to his role
at Infobright.
"Mark is ideal for the Interim CEO role at Infobright," said Chairman
Andre Boisvert. "He has the right technology, open source and
executive leadership background. His experience and success at
Informatica and MySQL are directly applicable to Infobright. He is
well versed and ready to step in to drive the business until a
full-time CEO is named."
"Data warehousing and analytics continue to be a bright growth
segment of the economy," said Burton. "Infobright has breakthrough
technology that is already having an impact on the industry. I look
forward to working more closely with the Infobright team and their
customers."
