Research in the UK claims that a "surprisingly high percentage of Brits get stressed when they can't get online." The survey, sponsored by Virgin Media and conducted by Future Laboratory, showed that the leading cause of anxiety over not being online (35% of respondents) was the inability to stay in touch with family. However, a surprisingly high 25% of respondents reported stress when unable to access online maps. Virgin Media's Chief Operating Officer Mark Schweitzer commented that the study shows that a "significant" number of people experience increased peace of mind when they are always connected.
