Spectra Energy Partners Raises Cash Distribution to 40 Cents Per Unit

5.3 Percent Increase over Second Quarter 2009 Distribution

HOUSTON, Oct. 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Spectra Energy Partners, LP (NYSE: SEP) announced the board of directors of its general partner declared a quarterly cash distribution to unitholders of $0.40 per unit for the quarter ended September 30, 2009. This represents a 5.3 percent increase over the second quarter 2009 distribution of $0.38 per unit paid on August 14, 2009, and a 14.3 percent increase over the third quarter 2008 distribution of $0.35 per unit. The cash distribution is payable on November 13, 2009, to unitholders of record at the close of business on November 3, 2009. This quarterly cash distribution equates to $1.60 per unit on an annual basis.

"We are pleased the board of directors has approved this increase in our quarterly cash distribution per unit by two cents to reflect the accretive nature of the Ozark acquisition completed in May and the continuing good performance of our other businesses," said Gregory J. Rizzo, president and chief executive officer.
