Solarfun names new R&D guru

BEIJING, Oct. 22, 2009 (Xinhua News Agency) -- China's integrated solar product maker Solarfun Power (NASDAQ:SOLF) Holdings (SOLF.Nasdaq) recently announced the appointment of Srinivasamohan (Mohan) Narayanan as its vice President of Technology.

Mohan will lead the company's R&D team to improve product performance and innovation, and streamline manufacturing operations.

Before, Mohan once worked with the Solar Energy division of Reliance Industries in India, Trina Solar Limited (NYSE:TSL) (TSL.NYSE) and BP Solar.

As a possessor of six patents and patents applications on casting, wafering, and other cell processes, Mohan also worked at the Laboratory Manager University of New South Wales in Sydney from 1984 to 1989.

Peter Xie, president of Solarfun, stressed its priority to improve research and development, raise cell efficiencies, streamline production processes and reduce costs.
