Oct. 22, 2009 (Business Wire) -- Prometheus Real Estate Group Inc., the largest private owner of multi-family properties in the San Francisco Bay Area, has promoted Craig Maness to vice president of technology. Maness most recently served as director of information systems for Prometheus and has more than 17 years of IT experience. In his new role, Maness is responsible for managing Prometheus’ information services team. Additionally, he will oversee all network and server hardware, telecommunications, low voltage / audio video design and property management software for Prometheus’ corporate office and more than 18,000 award-winning apartments in the Western United States. Maness will report to Clay Parker, CFO for Prometheus, and is based out of the company’s San Mateo, Calif., headquarters.

Maness has extensive experience working with high tech wireless companies in Silicon Valley, including Alvarion Inc., InterWAVE Communications Inc. and Wireless Inc. His experience includes enterprise resource planning (ERP) management and engineering change software/hardware oversight. Maness also served in the U.S. Navy for five years in the Bomb Disposal and Marine Mammal Programs and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in management information systems from San Jose State University.
