ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates, Oct 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Harris Corporation (NYSE: HRS), an international communications and information technology company, is expanding its presence here with a new business development operation.
Under the leadership of Leon Shivamber, former corporate vice president of Supply Chain Management and Operations for Harris, the company is launching an International Business Development team as part of its Government Communications Systems Division.
For 25 years, Harris has served customers in the region who have come to rely on its mission-critical communications, IT systems and services. The new operation will provide secure network solutions for security, energy and healthcare customers, among others.
Dan Pearson, group president of Government Communications Systems, credits the company's previous international efforts for laying the groundwork for this new business development. Shivamber, a former McKinsey and Company consultant, has led the transformation of Harris Corporation's supply chain capabilities. Also joining the Abu Dhabi team are Harris engineers Virgil Russell and Deke Johnson. Russell, who began with the company in 2001, has supported business development in commercial, civil and national space areas. A 12-year Harris veteran, Johnson has more than 25 years of engineering and business development experience in government and international markets.
