BEIJING, Oct. 23, 2009 (Xinhua News Agency) -- Giant Interactive Group Inc. (NYSE:GA) (GA.NYSE) officially started the closed beta testing of its new game ZT Online Green Edition on Friday, which aims to better serve non-pay users, according to Sina.com.

Shi Yuzhu, chairman and CEO of the company, said that the game product is a fruit of the company's two-year effort in developing free game mode.

In this game, the system will not sell items, equipment and other materials, but allow users to DIY items and earn game money by trading what they produce with others. In addition, the game will take special care on low-level players and those poorly equipped in a fight.

Based on the ZT Online's traditional version, the green edition has designs of new maps and new playing techniques to enrich users' game experience.

Shi said that 90 percent players who participated in the game's technical testing were satisfied with the game, making him confident on the improvement of the game's enjoyment level under the free mode.
