Thiruvananthapuram, Oct. 22 The Kerala Governor, Mr R.S. Gawai, will inaugurate a two-day national symposium on ‘Empowering youth, Empowering India’ here on Friday.

Being organised by the Kerala and Lakshadweep Directorate of NCC (National Cadet Corps), the symposium will discuss contemporary issues confronting the voluntary youth service with special reference to role and relevance of NCC in national building.
PHOTO EXHIBITION

A photo exhibition will be organised on the sidelines of the symposium unfolding the history of the NCC as an organisation, an official spokesman said here.

A separate enclosure is being arranged at the photo pavilion, paying tributes to late luminaries and former cadets featuring names such as Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, Subhash Chandra Bose and Jawaharlal Nehru.

Mahatma Gandhi raised the Indian Ambulance Corps (IAC) during the Boer War in South Africa in 1899.
