China's Top 20 Globally Competitive Companies unveiled

BEIJING, Oct. 26, 2009 (Xinhua News Agency) -- China's 2009 Top 20 Globally Competitive Companies, the award jointly conducted by Roland Berger Strategy Consultants, and Global Entrepreneur, the business magazine in China, has been unveiled.

These companies are the Huawei Technologies, Lenovo (OOTC:LNVGY) Group (0992.HK; LNVGY.PK), the Haier Group, ZTE Corporation (OOTC:ZTCOY) , the Wanxiang Group, China National Offshore Oil Corporation (NYSE:CEO) (CNOOC)(CEO.NYSE; 0883.HK), Baosteel Group Corporation, Neusoft Corporation, SunTech Power Holdings (STP.NYSE), Shanghai Zhenhua Port Machinery Corporation (OOTC:SZPAF) (ZPMC), Shenzhen Mindray Bio-Medical Electronics, China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company (COSCO), PetroChina (PTR.NYSE; 0857.HK; 601857.SH), Air China, Baidu (BIDU.NASDAQ), China Merchants Bank, the China Shipping (Group) Company, and the SAIC Group.

Based on companies' business performance, sustainable competitiveness, and the development level of global culture, the award assessed companies in eight fields, including operation, exploration of the international market, production and purchasing ability, global marketing competence, the international level of human resources, innovation and R&D, brand establishment, and integration into local culture.
