BEIJING, Oct. 26, 2009 (Xinhua News Agency) -- Changyou.com (NASDAQ:CYOU) (CYOU.NASDAQ) has just announced a net income growth of 18 percent year on year to 37.8 million US dollars for the third quarter of this year.
Its non-GAAP net income stood at 41.3 million dollars, or 0.77 dollars per fully diluted share, higher than the company's expectations, according to the company's third quarter financial statement released on Monday.
In the quarter ended September 30, 2009, its revenues totalled a record 68.7 million dollars, up 26 percent year on year. This included 66.9 million dollars from game operations and 1.8 million from overseas licensing, the former climbed 29 percent and the latter fell 33 percent year on year.
Aggregate active paying accounts for the company's three games, TLBB, Blade Online, and Blade Hero 2, grew 20 percent year on year to 2.4 million in the third quarter. The average revenue per active paying account rose 7 percent year on year to 190 yuan.
Changyou forecasts its total fourth quarter revenues between 69 million to 71 million dollars, and the non-GAAP net income between 41.5 million to 42.5 million dollars.
Changyou was previously a business unit held under Sohu.com (NASDAQ:SOHU) (SOHU.NASDAQ) but was later carved out as a separate company and for a Nasdaq listing on April 7, 2009.
