Comcast Expands Cloudmark Deployment with Comprehensive SenderMonitoring and Analysis for Increased Protection against Spam, Virusesand Phishing Attacks

Oct. 26, 2009 (Business Wire) -- Cloudmark, Inc., the global leader in carrier-grade messaging security, today announced that Comcast Corporation (Nasdaq: CMCSA, CMCSK), one of the nation’s leading providers of entertainment, information and communications products and services, has selected Cloudmark® to protect its 15.3 million High-Speed Internet customers and 25 million email boxes from messaging threats. Comcast selected and has completed deployment of Cloudmark Sender Intelligence™ (CSI), a comprehensive global sender monitoring and analysis system, to augment its current Cloudmark Authority® messaging anti-abuse deployment, to provide its customers with increased protection against rapidly evolving spam, viruses and phishing attacks. CSI includes data regarding spam resulting from bot infections on Comcast's network, and serves as a component of Comcast's new Constant Guard(tm) security program. Comcast is a noteworthy addition to Cloudmark’s growing list of customers, which includes the top 12 North American service providers.

“Comcast’s deployment of Cloudmark Sender Intelligence is an important component of our recently launched Constant Guard(tm) security program, as well as our anti-abuse defenses for Comcast SmartZone(tm), and reinforces our commitment to providing customers with the best and safest email and Internet experience,” said Jason Livingood, executive director of internet systems engineering at Comcast. “Cloudmark has enabled us to deploy accurate, constantly updated messaging-related security defenses that easily scale to protect millions of users and which delivered an immediate ROI by reducing the burden of spam coming into our network. This helps keep our customers more secure and satisfied with their Comcast High-Speed Internet experience.”

Working together, CSI and Cloudmark Authority provide cloud-based intelligence that combines timely and accurate reputation data on good, bad and suspect senders with the industry’s most accurate and highest performing message filtering capabilities. CSI leverages real-time data from Cloudmark’s Global Threat Network to create the industry’s most comprehensive sender IP reputation service. It analyzes traffic patterns, feedback and fingerprint correlation statistics to establish and adjust sender reputation scores in near-real-time. Data from CSI can be integrated into network perimeter devices to protect the messaging infrastructure against spam, phishing, zombies, botnets and advanced converged threats. Additionally, CSI provides significant additive security coverage to existing DNS-based Blacklists (DNSBLs) and reduces potential false positives.

Big Brother Has a Name, and that Name is CLOUDMARK by brucearnold
Big Brother Has a Name, and that Name is CLOUDMARK:  This 1984-ish content-based "spam signature" filter--touted as one of Communist China's most effective Internet censorship tools--now gives Comcast, Network Solutions and many other major US ISPs and web services complete control over what emails YOU are allowed to send or receive.  With Cloudmark, they can define whatever they choose to be a "spam signature", including the name of a cause they don't support, or the business telephone numbers of people who do.  Here is how I know: tinyurl[dot]com/Cloudmark
