Enterprise cloud computing company salesforce.com and Adobe Systems have announced the availability of a new offering to enable a new generation of cloud-based rich internet applications (RIAs).
The companies said Adobe Flash Builder for Force.com unites Force.com platform and the Adobe Flash Platform to bring the consumer web to enterprise cloud applications to enable a significantly improved level of developer productivity.
The companies said the new offering, expected for delivery in the first half of 2010, enables developers to add interactive user interface features and advanced data visualizations, turn multi-step business process applications into a one-screen experience, provide client-side integration, and build applications supporting both browser and desktop deployment scenarios.
Ariel Kelman, vice president of platform product marketing at salesforce.com, said: "Adobe and salesforce.com share a common vision for accelerating developer success with cloud computing. The integration of Adobe Flash Platform and Force.com will create new kinds of business applications that run in the cloud and easy to use as the best of the consumer web."
Salesforce.com has been expanding its cloud-based offerings through partnerships. Earlier this month, it announced joint offerings with Dell for small and medium businesses that deliver customer relationship management applications on the cloud. It also announced a partnership with Cisco to offer a combined solution to deliver a complete contact center in the cloud. Earlier this year, it formed similar alliances with Fujitsu and Google.
